Store in Overland Park will be run by Peter Jones, who brings three decades experience.
Westlake Ace Hardwarehas opened a new store in Overland Park, Kansas, and will hold a ceremonial “board cutting” and other grand opening celebrations July 23-24. The store is Westlake Ace’s 24th location in the Kansas City metro area.
Peter Jones has been named general manager of the new Overland Park store, said the company.
“I started working in retail home improvement in 1989 and have not been able to shake the fun and excitement of it for over 30 years. The people, the products, and the presentation provide me great opportunities to showcase what I have learned,” said Jones.
Jones joined Westlake Ace in 2012 as a part-time sales associate in the retail hardware chain’s Topeka, Kan. store – where he was eventually promoted to assistant store manager.
Jones added that his favorite department is Backyard BBQ because “food makes people happy.” In his free time, Jones likes to fish, tend to his aquariums, do woodworking, and practice yoga.
A ceremonial board cutting by Westlake Ace leadership and Overland Park officials will be held at the new 23,000 square foot store at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 21.
A “20% Off Grand Opening Celebration Sale” will be held July 23-24. On Saturday, July 23, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., a grand opening celebration event will include grill demonstrations, prize drawings, free kids’ activities, and an ice cream truck.
Headquartered in the Kansas City area, Westlake Ace Hardware has been the helpful neighborhood hardware store countless generations have shopped at for power and hand tools, fasteners, paint, plumbing, lawn care, pet, electrical supplies, and BBQ grills and accessories.
