Throwback Thursday: An HGTV star

Fourteen years ago, Home Channel News, the forerunner of HBSDealer, interviewed a young designer named David Bromstad in an episode of HCN TV. Bromstad at the time was promoting his original David Bromstad Color Collection from Mythic Paint.

Shortly after this video, Bromstad propelled to stardom, hosting or appearing in a number of home-design shows including HGTV Design Star, HGTV's Design at Your Door, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and as host of My Lottery Dream Home for nine seasons. 

In the Throwback Thursday video above—which has generated more than 1,500 views—HCN TV asks the tough questions, including “what’s your favorite color?”

While Bromstad’s career has blossomed since 2009, the trajectory of Mythic Paint, the environmentally friendly, no VOC-product Bromstad was endorsing, has not. The company's website mythicpaint.com is no longer active. And the company’s last social media Tweet was 2015.
