Next Big Thing: Paint touch-up express

This isn't the first time Kickstarter has allowed an inventive home improvement product to reach prominence. But it might be the first Kickstarter product that changes the way homeowners approach paint touch-ups.

My Paint Saint allows homeowners to touch up paint at their own whim -- without ever cleaning the brush.

The key to its operation is a silicone gasket that hermetically seals the paint inside the container, keeping the oxygen out and the paint moist. A silver closing ring seals the brush to the paint container and also screws to the bottom of the container while in use.

It also features shelves inside the cup to remove excess paint from the bristles, as well as a large writing space on the rear label for the paint color and paint code.

Invented by Mark Lacy, a single father and first-time business owner, My Paint Saint is now coming to market after a successful round of fundraising.

In its first six months, the product has hit shelves at Ace Hardware and True Value, and it's also available online at Amazon, Walmart, Kmart, Sears, Staples, The Grommet, Wayfair and Houzz.
