Floor & Decor opens 10th location in Atlanta market
Floor & Decor has expanded in its home state with the opening of its 10th store in the Atlanta, Georgia market.
With the latest opening in Peachtree City, Floor & Decor operates nine warehouse stores in the market along with one design studio. Nationally, the specialty home improvement retailer operates nearly 200 stores and 6 design studios in 36 states.
The new location opened with 50 full-time and part-time associates including Altonio Dalton, the store’s chief executive merchant.
“Floor & Decor is thrilled to open our doors in Peachtree City,” said Dalton. “We are excited to introduce both Professional customers, as well as Homeowners, to our one-stop solution for their flooring needs with an extensive selection of in-stock, trend-right flooring options.”
As is the tradition with all Floor & Decor new store openings, the retail took aim at professional customers.
A PRO VIP Grand opening even was held on April 12. The event featured a tour and discussions with area contractors, builders, architects, designers, remodelers, floor installers and realtors.
During the event, visitors met with the store’s PRO Services Team, interacted with supplier representatives, and learned about Floor & Decor’s PRO Partners services and rewards program.
“Building relationships with our local professionals is very important to us. Their success is our success,” said Dalton. “The store tours and giveaways give us a chance to support our community and tell them about our PRO Premier Rewards and all the benefits it can bring to their business.”
The Peachtree City Floor & Decor store will give away a $5,000 floor makeover as part of its grand opening festivities. From April 13 through June 19 customers will have the chance to register to win a $5,000 gift card from Floor & Decor.
In 2022, Floor & Decor opened 32 new warehouse stores and four design studios and while closing one warehouse store.
Floor & Decor CEO Tom Taylor has said the retailer expects to open between 32 and 35 new locations in 2023. The company maintains a presence in the top 25 U.S. metro markets.
In the final week of 2022, Floor & Decor cemented a strong finish with the opening of four new stores in Brentwood, Tenn.; Rancho Cordova, Calif.; Pearland, Texas; and Ypsilanti, Mich. Each new location measures roughly 80,000 square feet with about 45 to 50 full-time and part-time employees.
Additional openings in 2023 include new stores in Arizona, Colorado, and Louisiana.
Full-year sales at Floor & Decor increased more than 24% to $4.26 billion in 2022 as comp sales climbed 9.2% for the year.
The company has yet to release a date for its first quarter 2023 financial report.
