Weyerhaeuser Distribution announced it is expanding its wholesale distribution footprint with the addition of its 19th distribution center in San Antonio, Texas.

“This growth is exciting for our customers and the product brands we take to market. Texas has one of the strongest and fastest-growing housing markets in the country,” said Ross Theilen, vice president of distribution for Weyerhaeuser.

The new site will include 99,000 square feet of covered product storage and five acres of uncovered product storage to support Weyerhaeuser’s full-line product portfolio, said the company.

“Our new facility in San Antonio will help us better serve customers in Central and Southwest Texas — while also allowing our distribution center in Houston, which currently supports the San Antonio market, to expand and enhance service farther east through Louisiana,” said Theilen.

The company will start up the permanent site in early 2023, “but we aren’t waiting until then to get started. We will be operating locally at a temporary site in Q2 2022.”

The temporary and permanent sites are very close to each other, said the firm. Both are southwest of downtown San Antonio.

The firm said it will stock its full product offering, including proprietary Weyerhaeuser and Trus Joist® brands, specialty building products, and commodity lumber, panels, and steel.

Weyerhaeuser Company, based in Seattle, is one of the world’s largest forest products companies, and began operations in 1900. The company’s wood products business offers leading structural frame materials and OSB products, software, and technical support for residential, multi-family, and light commercial construction.
