Westlake Ace opens a third hardware store in Lee’s Summit
The new Westlake Ace Hardware in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, hosts grand opening events February 15-19. This is the company’s third store in Lee’s Summit.
The weekend’s events will also be an opportunity for the Lee’s Summit community to meet Julia Manker, the new store’s general manager, said Westlake Ace.
“Lee’s Summit is my home, and I am enjoying getting to know the community a little better,” said Manker.
A veteran of the retail hardware and lumber industry, Manker joined Westlake Ace in 2017. She was most recently the general manager of the company’s Brookside location in Kansas City.
Manker said she is passionate about her family and spends as much time as possible with them.
In her free time, she enjoys gardening, hosting backyard house concerts, cheering on her beloved Indianapolis Colts, and crafting.
The new store, with 15,000 square feet, will feature a wide range of products such as lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing and electrical supplies.
A ceremonial board cutting by Westlake Ace leadership and local dignitaries will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 15. Refreshments will be served, said the company.
A grand opening sale will be held February 16-19, featuring 20% off most purchases, said the firm.
On Saturday, February 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the grand opening celebration event will include:
- Product demonstrations;
- a sampling of Bravo Bravo Que sauce by Veterans Community Project and tours of a VCP “tiny home”;
- pet adoption with CritterHouseKC;
- free prize drawings;
- free kids activities.
Lee’s Summit is a suburb of Kansas City and has a population of about 100,000.
With this store opening, the company, which has its headquarters in nearby Lenexa, Kansas, reported it currently owns and operates 31 stores in the greater Kansas City metropolitan region.
