Zeskind's Door & Window Showroom has quickly become a trusted source for hardware and millwork materials in central Maryland and beyond.

The showroom is located inside the Park Hardware store in Severna Park, Maryland. Last April, Zeskind’s Hardware & Millwork purchased the former Clement Hardware — which had a strong local reputation of its own — and transformed the store into Park Hardware. A grand opening of the remodeled location and new banner was held in September.

With over 40 different manufacturers of doors, windows, millwork, and fine hardware, Zeskind’s updates its products and displays regularly.

Featured brands carried by Zeskind's include Andersen, Ashley Norton, Baldwin, Emtek, Jeld-Wen, Masonite, Omni, Therma-Tru, Water Street, and many more.

“As each manufacturer introduces new products, or discontinues various product lines, we will update them so the showroom will have the most current offerings from each vendor,” says Rick Miller, president and owner of Zeskind’s Hardware & Millwork and Park Hardware.

Zeskind’s has three full-time millwork experts at the showroom and three fine hardware experts on staff.

The team members are available to discuss projects with contractors and homeowners while helping to determine specifications and design choices. The showroom also works with architects and designers.

During a trip to the showroom, customers can find a wide variety of exterior doors including entry, sliding, patio, storm, and screens; custom-made windows; and decorative hardware for cabinets and doors.

"The Zeskind’s showroom is like no other home design destination in the area," Miller says.

Additional support for the showroom includes over 120,000 square feet of warehouse space and offices, five delivery trucks, a custom interior and exterior door shop, and a custom millwork shop.

A virtual showroom is under development, according to Miller. In the meantime, Zeskind's offers a robust digital library featuring many catalogs and price books from the dealer's featured vendors.

Park Hardware and Zeskind's can trace its roots to the Baltimore, Maryland market, where the company continues to maintain its flagship location.

Sam Zeskind opened Zeskind’s Hardware in Baltimore in 1925. His wife Rose and their four daughters lived above the store for many years while Zeskind’s grew to become a fixture in the community.

Their oldest daughter  Miriam married Irvin Miller in 1941, and after his return from WWII, they opened  Woodlawn Paint and Hardware. After having two children, Irvin passed away at a  young age and the Woodlawn store was sold.

In the 1960’s, Miriam and Irvin’s son, Rick, worked with his grandfather at Zeskind’s. As a teenager, he stocked shelves, repaired windows and screens, and waited on customers. By the early 1970's, and after 50 years in the business and with the neighborhood falling into hard times, Sam was looking to retire.

In 1973, Rick Sr. and his wife Deborah purchased Zeskind’s Hardware. In the following years they turned it into an extremely successful company, re-establishing Zeskind's as a cornerstone of the Carrolton Ridge community. As the business expanded, more buildings were purchased for additional material storage.

Eventually, Zeskind’s became the go-to place in Baltimore for roofing products and specialty hardware.

Rick Sr. and Deborah's son, Rick Jr., began working in the Baltimore City store at age  13, repairing windows and screens, cutting keys, stocking shelves and waiting on customers.

Working whenever he could for the family business through college, Rick. learned the hardware business from his parents. In 2008, after spending 7 years working in the millwork industry, Rick decided to join the family business full-time and grow it into a one-stop shop for customers to find all of their hardware and millwork needs in one place.

Over time, Zeskind's has grown from 3 employees to 50.

“Our years of industry experience shows through our clean and modern displays of doors, windows, and fine hardware,” Miller says of the showroom and company's history.
