In a break from tradition, Do it Best will visit Florida, March 11-13.

For decades, Indianapolis has set the stage for Do it Best Corp.’s twice-annual buying markets. Attendees have grown accustomed to the downtown Indiana Convention Center and nearby attractions – from the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument to the St. Elmo Steakhouse.

The surroundings will change dramatically next year as the co-op brings the Do it Best Spring Market 2023 to Orlando, March 11-13.

Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Do it Best said it is moving forward with a redesigned approach to its 2023 spring market that combines the online and in-person market experiences in a new way. The co-op is also bringing geographic diversity to future spring events.

“Over the last two years, we’ve had a lot of opportunities to talk with our members and vendors about what they value most in a market experience,” says Do it Best president and CEO Dan Starr.

Indianapolis will continue to host the co-op's fall markets.

“What’s come through loud and clear is how important it is for people to come together. We’ve always offered that at our markets—and will continue to do so. But just as we encourage our members to regularly refresh their stores to excite their customers, we’ve reimagined a spring market that delivers something different and valuable for our members and vendor,” said Starr.

“I’m pleased to share that starting next year, Do it Best will move its spring market out of its traditional home in Indianapolis and take it on the road to various locations around the country, starting with Orlando, Florida, from March 11-13, 2023,” said Starr.

The re-envisioned spring market will be built to facilitate product purchasing and member networking and engagement. “The virtual element of the market will continue to offer the full range of vendors’ products and market specials our member-owners have come to count on,” said Rich Lynch, vice president of marketing.

“The in-person portion will feature the great market deals, supported by vendors who are ready to show and talk about what’s new. Attractions like the New Item Gallery and the Launch Zone will feature even more new products to create excitement in-store and online,” said Lynch.

“In addition, our members will have several opportunities to take part in great sessions to add fuel to their selling engines. Planned networking and social events will help everyone leave recharged for the busy spring season,” said Lynch.

While this will be a notable change for spring markets, Do it Best said it will continue to host its fall market in Indianapolis, including the annual shareholders’ meeting, president’s address, and rebate distribution.

Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Do it Best is the only U.S.-based, member-owned comprehensive and fully integrated hardware, lumber, and building materials buying cooperative in the home improvement industry, with annual sales surpassing $5 billion.
