DIRTT Environmental Solutions Ltd., an interior construction company, has named Kevin O’Meara as the company’s CEO.

Effective Sept. 10, O’Meara also joins DIRTT’s board of directors.

O’Meara is the former president and CEO of Atrium Corporation, North America’s largest vinyl and aluminum window manufacturer. He is also a co-founder and former CEO, president, and chief operating officer of Builders FirstSource, the Dallas, Texas-based pro dealer.

During his tenure at Builders FirstSource he helped grow the company to $2.4 billion in revenue and an initial public offering. He also helped integrate 23 acquired companies at Builders FirstSource.

DIRTT stands for Doing It Right This Time. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the company uses proprietary ICE Software to design, manufacture and install fully customized interior environments for homes, schools, and offices. Complete interior spaces are constructed faster, cleaner and more sustainably, according to the company.

“Kevin is an accomplished operating executive with extremely relevant industry experience and knowledge,” Steve Parry, chairman of DIRTT, said in a statement. “Kevin’s appointment was the clear choice of everyone who participated in the extensive search process, including DIRTT’s board and senior management. In addition to his entrepreneurial spirit, Kevin’s experience building customer-focused organizations and success gaining market share align closely with DIRTT’s culture and philosophy. Kevin is keenly focused on driving value for all stakeholders: employees, customers, partners, and shareholders.”

“Dirtt’s innovative technology and world-class teams deliver significant value to its customers,” said O’Meara. “I am excited to join DIRTT and look forward to helping accelerate its growth and financial momentum.”

O’Meara succeeds Michael Goldstein, who joined DIRTT as interim CEO in January 2018. “With the successful completion of his mandate, Michael’s role with DIRTT has concluded,” Parry added. “We thank him for his contribution and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
