Masonite names new SVP

Masonite International Corporation has appointment of Chet Akiri as senior vice president and business leader of the company’s components business.

The move is effective Oct. 8. Akiri most recently served as chief operating officer and chief commercial officer of Bristow Group, an industrial aviation services provider with annual sales of $1.5 billion.

Prior, he spent more than 13 years at GE in various general management, sourcing and M&A related roles within GE’s Industrial and Energy businesses and at the company’s headquarters. His last assignment at GE was chief operating officer for GE Energy Global Nuclear Fuels business.

“Chet brings a rich set of general management and M&A experience with industrial businesses that we believe will be extremely useful in leading the Masonite Components business and contributing to the broader leadership team,” stated Fred Lynch, Masonite president and CEO. “His wealth of manufacturing business experience and strong management skills will further our efforts to deliver value-creating products and services within the components business.”

Based in Tampa, Fla., Masonite designs and manufactures interior and exterior doors for residential construction and the remodeling market.
