SmartLam and RedBuilt look to grow mass timber market

SmartLam North America and RedBuilt announced that the later will serve as the exclusive distributor of SmartLam CLT (cross-laminated timber)  in the Pacific Northwest, West Coast, and Southwest.

This includes moving mass timber products in nine states: California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Montana.

Expertise on mass timber is another aspect of the agreement.

SmartLam said that the partnership with RedBuilt will offer “an integrated solution for mass timber building, with highly trained technical sales and design teams, all deeply familiar with mass timber design, manufacturing, and installation.” 

The teams will guide architects, engineers, and contractors through the entire design and construction process to streamline workflow and eliminate guesswork, SmartLam said.

The two companies are offering a wide array of structural engineered wood solutions, including CLT, glulam beams, open web, I-joists, laminated veneer lumber, and connection hardware from a single source, simplifying the building process.

SmartLam operates two production facilities in Columbia Falls, Mont. and Dothan, Ala. The Columbia Falls facility also serves as its corporate headquarters.
