Trex releases new Transcend line

2/20/2018

Winchester, Va.-based composite decking manufacturer Trex has announced the release of a new line, Transcend, which is scheduled to begin shipping on Jan. 4.

The new line will feature increased performance as well as aesthetic appeal, according to the company.

“With Transcend, we’re combining all of the benefits of our existing collections with proprietary new technologies that offer unparalleled durability, wear-resistance and long-lasting good looks,” said Ron Kaplan, president and CEO of Trex.

The new line is designed to resist stains, scratches and mold and will have a distinctive natural-looking wood grain pattern, the company said. It also boasts a thicker integrated shell, which covers three sides of the board, protecting it from severe weather and heavy foot traffic. The product also claims the same performance elements of other Trex products; Transcend won’t rot, warp, crack, split or fade in the sun, and it is extremely low maintenance, the company said.

“Through Trex Transcend, we’re elevating the entire decking category and creating new standards for performance and aesthetics,” said Kaplan. “No alternative outdoor living product truly has delivered the benefits of both composite and PVC decking until now. That’s why we’re confident Trex Transcend is in a class of its own.”

The decking also contains 95% recycled material, and the railing uses entirely reclaimed wood, contributing to the LEED points of any structure.
