'Safe + Sound' week begins today

8/13/2018
OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week 2018 kicks off today in a nationwide effort to promote health and safety programs that include management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in workplaces.

Through work-based discussions and activities, Safe + Sound provides an opportunity to demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and to participate in a dialogue focused on finding solutions to workplace safety and health issues. There is a range of ways organizations can participate in Safe + Sound. The 1,800 events worldwide include safety webinars, toolbox talks, roundtable discussions, and more.

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is an official supporting partner of Safe + Sound Week. The association said that it is encouraging home builders of all sizes to show their commitment to safety to workers, customers, the public, and supply chain partners by selecting an activity from the Safe + Sound website and participating in a training or seminar.

The NAHB has also created a yearlong member and public awareness campaign, Safety 365, to provide information and resources to help keep construction workers safe and eliminate preventable accidents, injuries, and deaths.

Check the Safety 365 page for valuable resources in English and Spanish on a wide range of safety topics, including an OSHA inspection toolkit.
