Poll Results: here’s your housing starts forecast

HBSDealer readers appear to be slightly more optimistic than home builders.

The National Association of Home Builders expects total housing starts to reach 1.3 million units in 2020, up more than 2% from last year.

The leading vote getter is “1.3 million to 1.4 million,” with 30% of all votes. Another 20% of respondents selected “1.2 million to 1.3 million.”

With a surge in December, total-housing-starts finished the year at an estimated 1,249,900.The NAHB released its 2020 forecast during the International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas.
