New branch for Texas garden center

Calloway's Nursery prepares to open its 19th store.
Calloway’s Nursery, the Fort Worth, Texas-based garden center chain, plans to open its 19th store this spring. The 2,200-sq.-ft. store with 12,000 sq. ft. of outdoor selling space will be located in Hebron, Texas. An 8,400-square-foot greenhouse will provide additional space to display plants, flowers, lawn decor and other gardening products for sale.

Designed by local firm Schwarz-Hanson Architects, the Hebron store will resemble a classic, Texas farmhouse with a rustic stone-covered exterior and wraparound porch. The surrounding flowerbeds will be landscaped to provide seasonal gardening inspiration for shoppers, the company said.

The population growth of nearby west Plano and north Carrollton factored into the decision to open in Hebron. "Hebron and its neighboring communities are a flourishing area to live in North Texas," said Calloway's Nursery CEO Marce Ward. "Calloway's looks forward to welcoming locals into the new store and helping them create beautiful outdoor spaces to enjoy at home."

The Hebron store will open this spring at 2415 W. Parker Rd. The staff count will about 20.

In addition to its variety of plants for sale, the company believes its collective product knowledge is a competitive advantage. The company claims to have more Texas Certified Nursery Professionals in its stores than any other nursery or garden center in the state.
