Menards launches 10-percent credit card rebates

The Eau Claire, Wisc.-based home center chain is promoting post-Christmas sales with an automatic 10 percent rebate on all sales through its Menards Big Card private-label credit card program.

Under the plan, the rebate value is calculated automatically at the point of sale, and checks are mailed to consumers in four-to-six weeks after the purchase. The rebate includes purchases of products already marked down, according to the company’s promotional material.

Menards has a history of creative rebates. When economic stimulus checks were mailed to Americans this spring, Menards offered consumers a 5 percent bonus for checks converted to gift cards.
