Like many hardware stores, JBK Ace Hardware has instituted a number of healthy measures at its store Chestertown, Md., store.

The retailer has encouraged the use of credit over cash (money is dirty). It adjusted its hours of operation from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The store dialed up its safety precautions by asking customers to postpone their trip to the store if they’re not searching for essential item. And for those who enter the store. Of course, social distancing is emphasized around the store.

Also like many hardware stores, JBK Hardware is offering curbside pick up in concert with acehardware.com.

Most recently, the company instituted a policy of allowing a maximum of 10 customers into the store at a time for the safety of everyone.

“Yes, we are open because we care about the community and feel we have items the community needs,” reads a company post on Linkedin.com. The company uses the tag line: “We don’t just work here, we live here, too.”
