LaFarge opens new U.S. plant

The LaFarge Group, a manufacturer of cement, concrete, aggregates and gypsum, has announced the opening of a new joint compound plant adjacent to its gypsum wallboard facility in Silver Grove, Ky.

The plant will produce a full range of wallboard finishing products for commercial and residential construction, the company said.

Headquartered in Herndon, Va., LaFarge operates three wallboard plants and one other joint compound facility in Chambly, Quebec.
