'Labor' and 'Trade' are top concerns
The latest HBSDealer industry poll showed readers a list of a half-dozen industry trends that keep home improvement industry executives up at night. Among them, two emerged as most likely to cause insomnia: the labor shortage, and international trade disputes.
The poll question asked: "Which of the following had the biggest impact on your business."
Here's the breakdown, after more than 100 votes:
• Labor shortages: 37%
• International trade disputes: 30%
• Rising health care costs: 13%
• Housing affordability: 9%
• Excessive regulations: 9%
• Digital disruption: 2%.
