KANSAS CITY, Missouri -The 2023 ProDealer Industry Summit featured a tour of McCray Lumber & Millwork.

McCray maintains a strong presence in the Kansas City market with five lumberyards in the market, including Edwardsville, Lawrence, Olathe, and Topeka, Kansas along with Liberty Missouri. The dealer also maintains a production facility and showroom in the Fairfax District of Kansas City,  Kansas.

The tour began at Fairfax, a mammoth 160,000-square-foot millwork warehouse situated on 7 acres. According to McCray Operations Manager Seth Blevins, it's about a quarter-mile walk from the receiving area to the front end of the warehouse.

The facility produces 15 door styles at a rate of approximately 2,000 per week, Blevins said. Additionally, the facility is McCray's lone millwork facility and serves all of the dealer's yards.

The next stop on the tour was a visit to McCray's Edwardsville yard.

Set on 10 acres, the paved yard features 10,000 square feet of indoor storage for cedar and treated lumber.  Attendees were given insights into how the company builds loads, stores its materials, and updates its outdoor decking display.

The tour included two busloads of 2023 ProDealer Industry Summit attendees, including fellow prodealers and LBM leadership.

HBSDealer honored McCray Lumber & Millwork as its 2021 ProDealer of the Year.

The company has been serving the Kansas City building community since 1947 and is a member of both the Greater Kansas City Home Builders Association and the Kansas City National Association of Remodeling Industry (NARI).

Altogether, McCray Lumber & Millwork operates 50 acres of open yard space, more than 500,000 square feet of covered storage, 100 trucks, and delivery vehicles, and features 200 employees dedicated to exceptional customer service.

The ProDealer Industry Summit, being held in Kansas City, Missouri, continues Oct. 5 through Oct. 6.
