Quikrete Industry Dashboard
Still no government data, but NAR reports decline of sales.
The biggest metric move on the latest version of the Quikrete Industry Dashboard is the decline in existing home sales reported by the National Association of Realtors. Existing home sales in December fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.99 million – this after two consecutive months of increases. The government shutdown was lifted (temporarily) but not in time to adjust residential-construction and retail-sales data from the Commerce Department.
News of an agreement to open the government did, however, affect the stock roundup, which shows all 10 companies and the DJI ahead compared to a month ago.
