LBM Advantage planning conference looks ahead

LBM Advantage (Advantage), the lumber and building materials cooperatives, held its annual Fall Planning Conference.

Advantage dealer members, mills, manufacturers, and building product vendors were on hand to strategize purchasing strategy and logistics for 2023, make contract commitments, exhibit new products, and take advantage of show specials. The event took place at the Sheraton Boston from Oct. 30 - Nov. 1.

The conference kicked off with a lively cocktail reception for members and LBM Advantage staff on Oct. 30. Events on Oct. 31 began with an informative presentation on how to best utilize the Fastmarkets online platform to make informed and sound purchasing decisions. 

Keynote speaker and renowned economist, Edmond Seifried, offered an insightful economic perspective on the fourth quarter 2022 and what to expect in 2023. 

LBM Advantage members commented that they gained important knowledge from both presentations that will be used in their business planning.

In addition to spending time on the show floor, LBM Advantage members could mingle with vendor partners at a  second cocktail function and participate in specialized pool and user group meetings where they discussed best practices,  market insights, new products, and group buys. 

“It was wonderful to be back in person for this important strategic event,” said LBM Advantage Vice President of Forest Products Tim Johnson  “Our members appreciated the opportunity to be face-to-face with our suppliers and their expert LBM  Advantage to strategize plans for the coming year.” 

LBM Advantage’s 2023 Fall Planning Conference will be held at the Encore Boston Harbor from Octo. 23-25.  

LBM Advantage is a member-owned forest products and building materials cooperative comprised of independent LBM retailers. Advantage operates four locations in New Windsor, N.Y.; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Smithfield, N.C.; and Conroe, Texas.
