LAT recognizes Member of the Year honorees
The Lumbermen’s Association of Texas (LAT) has announced its 2020 Dealer of the Year and 2020 Associate of the Year awardees.
Bart Graves, vice president and general manager at John E. Quarles Co. has been selected by LAT membership as its 2020 Dealer of the Year. Graves served as president of LAT’s Board of directors in 2007 and continues to engage as an ex-officio director.
John E. Quarles Lumber Co. is a family-run lumberyard supplying lumber, building supplies, including windows and doors, located in Fort Worth, Texas The company has served contractors, builders, and homeowners since 1901.
The dealer award is based on dedication to LAT and the industry, service to customers, participation in civic and community affairs and developing camaraderie among LAT members.
“LAT membership has been a dependable source of inspiration and support throughout my career,” said Graves. “I deeply value the friendships and the opportunities to collaborate with my peers to advocate in Austin on behalf of our industry and to bring others along to support our mission. This recognition is a profound honor.”
The associate award is based on the level of service to LAT’s dealer members and dedication to and engagement with LAT for the betterment of the industry.
Aaron Elliott, president at DW Distribution, Inc., has been selected by the LAT membership as its 2020 Associate of the Year. Elliott serves on LAT’s Board of Directors where he helps lead the organization to accomplish its mission.
“I am so incredibly honored – especially from a group of people I respect and care about so much,” said Elliott. “You inspire me every day to serve our industry to the best of my ability so that we can continue to help others build and achieve their Great American Dream.”
DW Distribution, based in DeSoto, Texas, is a fully owned subsidiary of DWBSI. The company is a 66-year-old, third-generation distributor of building materials, millwork products, and pre-hung door units. DW serves customers in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico.
“Bart and Aaron are industry leaders who generously give of their time and expertise to serve the LAT membership,” said Harley “Bubba” Finnell, president of the LAT Board of Directors and President at Oldham Lumber Company. “We look forward to bestowing on these leaders our association’s most prestigious honor as it is well deserved.”
