Kebony has entered into distribution partnerships in the West with Harwoods Inc. and International Wood Products (IWP).

The pair of distributors will jointly handle Kebony’s dual-modified wood cladding and decking products in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

In total, Kebony will now be moved by 20 additional distribution centers in the region.

“These two distributors have deep roots in the Pacific Northwest, having been founded there,” said Andy Hehl, Kebony North American director. “Both have grown into wood-products sales powerhouses throughout the West. We’re very excited to have them representing Kebony in this growing market.”

International Wood Products began in 1994 with a focus on the distribution of commodity items and later specialty products to the mix. This commitment to a diverse product mix was a strategic initiative in 1995 and continues today, 28 years later.

“IWP is excited to promote and sell Kebony at all five of our locations servicing the entire West Coast. Kebony adds to our growing portfolio of high-quality products that value innovation and sustainability,” IWP President Josh Hamilton said. “It supports our commitment to working with our customers to provide solutions, grow market share, and increase return on investment.”

Based in Clackamas, Oregon, IWP operates five distribution centers in California, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

Hardwoods, part of Adentra’s North American distribution network, operates 32 distribution centers strategically located across the United States and Canada.  Hardwoods is positioned to provide customers with immediate access to a large, diverse product portfolio, and vendors a broad, significant channel to market, Kebony said.

“We are excited to partner with Kebony across our network of 15 western distribution centers,” said Nick Smith, regional vice president, Hardwoods West. “In view of the increased demand for branded, specifiable, sustainable, and durable wood products in outdoor living applications, Kebony is a key addition to Hardwoods’ ‘Wood for Outdoor Living’ program. Kebony strategically aligns with our continued growth in this segment.”

Headquartered in Norway, Kebony technology permanently transforms sustainable softwoods, such as pine, into dually modified wood with features that are comparable, and in some cases superior, to those of precious tropical hardwoods.

Used predominantly for cladding and decking, Kebony dually modified wood products are specified for a multitude of outdoor applications and design projects in more than 100 countries around the world.
