Honors for CHIC Lumber Co.
Missouri-based CHIC Lumber Co. has been named the 2018 Independent Pro Dealer of the Year.
The annual award, selected by editors of HBSDealer in concert with the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association, is designed to recognize a high-performance independent lumberyard with a commitment to best practices and the best values of the lumber and building material industry.
The three-unit dealer operates a diverse lineup of services to serve the St. Louis and St. Charles markets. And its “Get it Done Right” program ensures quality in three steps – the right contractor, making the contact, and getting it done.
Operations of the 31-year-old business are guided by the slogan: “Our Specialty is Our Service." And according to President Adam Hendrix, the team takes pride in its prominent role in the community. The offerings range from “our 7,000 square-foot design and conference center that offers 24 hour access to our customers and community groups, to our complete category offerings to our pro builders and remodelers,” Hendrix said.
The company operates a Wentzville, Mo., millwork facility, as well as a Design Center in O’Fallon, Mo.
“From building materials to custom millwork and kitchen cabinets, we are so much more than lumber,” Hendrix said.
Past honorees of the Independent Pro Dealer of the Year award include Millard Lumber of Nebraska (2017), Healdsburg Lumber of California (2016); and Holmes Building Materials of Louisiana (2015).
The company is a member of the Do it Best Corp. co-op., where VP of LBM Gary Nackers says he's proud to have CHIC Lumber as a member. CHIC Lumber will accept the award at the 2018 ProDealer Industry Summit, slated for Chicago, Oct. 17-19. The summit is hosted jointly by the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association and HBSDealer. The event will also recognize the 2018 Pro Dealer of the Year Drexel Lumber, of Campbellsport, Wis.
