House-Hasson invests in Dollar House concept

2/20/2018

Knoxville, Tennessee-based House-Hasson Hardware is rolling out “Dollar House,” a merchandise and sales program to enable dealers to compete with Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree stores, the company said.

“Dollar House” will be introduced to House-Hasson dealers at the company’s upcoming Oct. 9-11 dealer market in Sevierville, Tennessee, at the Sevierville Events Center.

House-Hasson describes itself as America’s largest independent regional hardware distributor. It has more than 2,000 dealers.

“Our goal is profitability for our dealers, and we’re enabling them to add this new dimension so their customers will have even more ability to get everything they want and need in our dealers’ stores,” said Don Hasson, president of House-Hasson Hardware, a 108-year-old, family owned company headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn. “This is a growing and important line of business."

Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, and Dollar General had some $32 billion in combined 2013 sales.

“We’ll have 40 linear feet of these items on display at the market just as it can be set up in a dealer’s store in whatever size they want,” he added. “It’s a turnkey program: There’s signage, point-of-sale literature, graphics and everything a dealer will need to display and sell these items, all of which list for $1.”
