Each year, HBSDealer editors face the tough task of sifting through dozens of nominations for the annual Hardware All Stars feature (sponsored by Epicor).

It's not exactly tough to find retailers that provide knowledgeable service, or stores that are important to their communities. When it comes to All Star status, however, it's usually a matter of someone with a little extra -- be it exceptional service, an unusual market niche, or perhaps just a really great story.

The April issue of Hardware + Building Supply Dealer magazine contains the full list of 2015 honorees, and more of their stories. Here are highlights, from the class of 2015 from Arkansas and Arizona.

Arizona: Shoppers Supply

Shoppers Supply has morphed from a single fleet and farm store to a complete farm, ranch and hardware dealer with two locations -- one in Chandler and one in Apache Junction. Customers appreciate the ability to buy hard-to-find products, peruse its premium feed offerings and avail themselves of competitive prices -- as awell as bring their dogs along to the pet-friendly premises.

The store's mission statement says it all: "You live it, we supply it."

Arkansas: Fuller and Son Hardware

Since 1921, the Fuller and Son legacy has been a prominent player in central Arkansas' home improvement scene. Surely, it's figured out a thing or two about customer and community service in that time: A price match center, engine repair shop, tool rentals and a donation site for Habitat for Humanity round out the bill.
