In Chagrin Falls, Ohio, a social media bonanza

A friendly "cash mob" took turns spending $20 at Chagrin Hardware thanks to a groundswell of support for the local business via Facebook.

According to an article at WKYC.com, the Do it Best store in downtown Chagrin Falls, benefited from an idea by a local resident to support his local hardware store. His plan: send a simple e-mail to his friends inviting them to spend $20 at the store on Jan. 21. 

According to the article, after the e-mail hit several Facebook pages, about 200 to 250 people followed the advice.
