Former Beacon exec joins Lumber Liquidators board

Specialty flooring retailer Lumber Liquidators announced that Joseph Nowicki has been appointed to the company’s board of directors, effective. Sept. 1.

Nowicki’s initial term expires at Lumber Liquidator’s 2022 annual shareholders meeting. He will also serve on the board’s regulatory affairs and audit and compliance committees.

From 2013 to 2020, Nowicki served as executive vice president and CFO of Beacon Roofing Supply (Beacon). Nowicki retired from Beacon earlier this year following the end of the company’s 2019 fiscal year.

Prior to that position, he was CFO, chief compliance officer and treasurer at Spartan Motors.

Nowicki served on the board of directors of Diversified Restaurant Holdings, Inc., owner and operator of Buffalo Wild Wings franchised restaurants, from 2010 to 2020, when it was acquired by a private investment firm.  He also served on the board of directors of ASV Holdings, Inc.

"We are delighted to welcome Joe to our board of directors," said Charles Tyson, president and CEO of Lumber Liquidators. "With over 35 years spanning a breadth of financial disciplines, industries and business functions, both in the retail and home improvement industries, as well as his expertise in the development of e-commerce and digital enhancements for a public company with over $7 billion in annual revenue, Joe's leadership experience, knowledge and insight will help guide us as we continue to implement our business strategy."

Based in Richmond, Va., Lumber Liquidators operates 442 locations.
