Distributor suffers ‘massive’ fire

The cause of a fire that destroyed a U.S. Lumber distribution center in Claysburg, Pennsylvania, Monday is under investigation, according to a report from the Altoona Mirror newspaper.

Claysburg is located about 20 miles south of Altoona, Pennsylvania.

There were no injuries, according to the report, despite the fire being described as “massive.”

The three-alarm fire started late Monday night at the location, 218 Ward Drive. There were reports of multiple explosions.

U.S. Lumber is a two-step distributor of building products based in Duluth, Georgia. The company counts 15,000 lumberyards, building supply dealers and home improvement retailers as customers.
