Culpeper Wood Preservers, one of the largest manufacturers of pressure treated lumber in the United States, has acquired a treating plan in Sweetwater, Tenn.

With this purchase, Culpeper Wood Preservers now operates 14 locations.

“The plant in Tennessee complements our current operations and further expands our footprint in the southeastern U.S. markets,” said Jonathan Jenkins, president of Culpeper Wood Preservers. “This strategic addition to our company will provide greater value to our current customers, as well as expand our capacity and geographic reach,”.

Founded in 1976 in Culpeper, Va., the company has grown to be a leading manufacturer of pressure treated products to the residential, commercial, industrial, and marine markets and employs more than 600 dedicated people.

Chris Brown, director of business development for Culpeper said, “Having a plant in Tennessee allows us to strengthen our current distribution coverage while giving us access to new markets as well. We look forward to the opportunity to build enduring partnerships with the retail lumber yards in this area.”

Culpeper Wood brand name products are sold through lumber dealers throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, Midwest, and Southeast.
