Who are the industry's Top Women?

6/17/2020

Last year, based entirely on reader recommendations, HBSDealer recognized the Top Women of Hardware & Building Supply.

This year, we’re taking the program to new heights. Nominations are once again open for Rising Stars and Business Excellence honorees. Here’s the nomination form.

And in November, the first-ever Top Women in Hardware & Building Supply networking event will bring the honorees together with outstanding leaders to encourage and advance the role of women in this industry.

The event will be held at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown Chicago, Nov. 4-5.

“We truly believe that our 2020 Top Women program represents a great opportunity to serve this industry and bring people and companies together in a positive way,” said HBSDealer’s Amy Grant, who is spearheading the program. “Diversity is more than just an ideal. It’s good for business and it’s good for the industry.”

Of course, a successful crusade to bring meaningful (and profitable) diversity to the industry requires more than a two-day event. Between now and Nov. 4, the print and digital editions of HBSDealer will feature profiles, analysis and advice from women leaders, including those of the Network of Executive Women, an official partner of HBSDealer.

Diversity is more than just an ideal. It’s good for business and it’s good for the industry.

HBSDealer is now accepting nominations for the awards, which will recognize honorees for the key role they play in the hardware and building supply industry in the following two categories:

  • Business Excellence Award

Recognizes a woman who has demonstrated achievement, growth and success in the hardware and home improvement industry. The recipient of the Business Excellence Award understands the importance of innovative ideas, education, decision-making, mentoring and community service. She is known to many as a woman who has made a difference in the business community and her profession.

  • Rising Stars Award

Recognizes a woman who is considered an up-and-coming star in her profession. The winner will be a woman to watch who has had significant accomplishments and/or achieved notable success.
