Wehrung’s Lumber and Home Center expands
Wehrung’s Lumber and Home Center, a Do it Best member dealer, announced it has added a fifth store, expanding its homegrown niche to Macungie, Pennsylvania.
A grand opening will be held to celebrate Wehrung’s Macungie in the Greater Lehigh Valley on October 22.
“With the second acquisition in the past two years of other family-owned and operated home improvement and hardware store locations, Wehrung’s family of businesses carries on its friendly-small town vibe to serve customers in their hometown communities,” said the company.
The Ottsville, Pennsylvania-based company purchased Dries Do It Center in 2021. The store has remained open to serve professional and DIY customers throughout a roughly $3 million investment in an extensive renovation and restocking process, said the firm.
From lumber and building industry professionals to DIY homeowners, Wehrung’s Macungie aims to be a “one stop shop,” said Brad Jacobs, vice president of purchasing at Wehrung’s family of businesses and general manager of Wehrung’s Macungie.
“Our company culture is big on employee retention. Many of our employees are long term, serving the building industry for 15, 20, 30 or more years,” said Jacobs.
Relationships are at the core of Wehrung’s mission statement, the company said, which allowed the company to continue to serve customers at all its locations through strong, established supply chain vendors.
