Tractor Supply giving appreciation bonus pay
Tractor Supply Company announced a new, special appreciation bonus for team members in its stores and distribution centers, along with a new parental leave policy.
The Brentwood, Tenn.-based retailer, with more than 1,900 stores in 49 states, is paying a one-time special appreciation bonus of $300 to full-time employees and $150 to part-time employees. Tractor Supply said it will pay the same bonus system to employees at its 283 Petsense stores and all distribution centers.
The move is in recognition of its employees’ “commitment to each other, customers and operations during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Tractor Supply said.
These special appreciation bonuses are in addition to previous bonuses of $2 per hour paid from March to June 2020 and permanent compensation increases implemented effective June 28.
“Tractor Supply Team Members, who are at the heart of our relationship with our customers, have worked tirelessly during the pandemic to take care of each other and our customers,” said Hal Lawton, Tractor Supply’s President and CEO. “We are honored to be able to recognize our store and distribution center Team Members who have stepped up to the challenges of this year and remained focused on serving the rural lifestyle we all love. Their dedication to living our mission and values every day has allowed Tractor Supply to support our customers and the communities we call home during the pandemic.”
Lawton also said that the retailer continues to prioritize health and safety while making investments in resources and protocols to help protect employees and customers.
Entering 2021, the Company will continue paid sick leave for all team members affected by COVID-19. Associates who self-report contagious, flu or COVID-19 symptoms that keep them out of work; are part of a mandated or self-imposed quarantine; are impacted by the temporary closing of a location due to the outbreak; or have a confirmed case of COVID-19, will continue to be paid during that time.
“We are committed to providing benefits that help our team members thrive at home and at work,” said Melissa Kersey, Tractor Supply’s executive vice president and chief human resources officer. “Our new paid parental leave policy supports Tractor Supply’s commitment to going the country mile for our team members. We believe that family is incredibly important, and our new parental leave policy helps provide our team members the support they need as they welcome a new member to the family.”
Tractor Supply also announced that it will offer six consecutive weeks of paid parental leave for employees to care for new family members entering the home. The paid parental leave is available to full-time team members regardless of gender or the way a new family member enters the home. The new policy takes effect on Feb. 1, 2021.
Tractor Supply said that it provides additional resources for working parents, including paid disability leave for maternity, adoption expense reimbursement, counseling and support through its employee assistance program and nursing rooms at its store support center.
