Three more Superstars: Mass., Mich. & Minn.

10/26/2020

Fifty stores in fifty states — That’s the unofficial slogan and partial description of the 2020 STIHL Hardware All Star program.

Now in its tenth, the editors have created a special class of repeat performers. All 50 All Stars selected in 2020 have been recognized once before in a previous class. And for that reason, we’re adding the moniker “Superstar” to the fifty retailers selected in 2020.

Throughout the year, HBSDealer has been highlighting a handful of all-star honorees in our daily newsletter. Below are three more – representing large format home centers and neighborhood hardware stores.

Norfolk Hardware
Boston, Mass.
Star qualities: A willingness and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing Mattapan neighborhood accelerated success and organic growth.
Superstar qualities: Inside the 40,000 sq. ft. home center (massively renovated in 2017), customers belly up to the “Paint Pub” on actual bar stools.

Zeeland Lumber & Supply
Zeeland, Mich.
Star qualities: A huge range of customers (from homeowners to multi-family builders) benefit from relationships established with this growth-oriented dealer and its component plants.
Superstar qualities: Lives by its slogan: “Build. Trust.”

Marv's True Value
Princeton, Minn.
Star quality: A bright paint center – Inspiration Realized – and a healthy crafts and gift department present a soft side to loyal shoppers.
Superstar quality: There’s also massive big-equipment credibility, given the company’s origins as the Marvin George Builders lumber yard.
