Pro dealer Talbert Building Supply announced that it is acquiring Poindexter Lumber Company of Clemmons, N.C.

The acquisition will be the fifth Talbert branch, joining locations in Roxboro, Durham, and Asheboro, N.C., and Clarksville, Va.

Founded in 1926, Poindexter Lumber Company is a fourth-generation lumber and building materials dealer servicing custom builders, remodelers, and retail customers in the greater Winston-Salem market.

Poindexter is led by third and fourth-generation owner-operators Tom and Chris Poindexter. Both Tom and Chris will continue in essential transition and leadership roles as consultant and general manager, respectively, for the Clemmons location.

“We are excited to join the well-established group at Talbert Building Supply,” stated Tom Poindexter, president of Poindexter Lumber Company. “Their business model is a well-suited fit to continue what our family has established over the past 95 years, and we are thankful for this opportunity.”

They have a wonderful business, a dedicated team, and an incredible facility from which to operate. We look forward to honoring their family’s contributions to the industry and surrounding communities by welcoming the Poindexter team to Talbert and working together to deliver an exceptional customer experience.”

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

In a press release, Talbert said it expects the deal to close by Nov. 15.
