Beacon, the Herndon, Va.-based roofing and building products distributor with more than 450 locations in the United States and Canada, has continued to expand in the South.

The distributor has opened greenfield locations in Leitchfield, Ky. and Hampton, Virginia.

According to Beacon, the Hampton branch expands the company’s OTC network service to residential and commercial customers in the Virginia Beach-Norfolk-Newport News-Williamsburg market.

The Hampton branch is stocked with leading brands of roofing and complementary products, including Beacon’s own private label TRI-BUILT products.

The Leitchfield branch is specifically designed, stocked, staffed, and equipped to serve lumberyard, building supply, and home center customers in predominantly rural markets.

“These new locations bring additional service to both our coastal and rural customers in the South. Our teams of building materials experts are trained to serve each market’s needs and help customers grow their businesses by saving time and operating more efficiently,” said Munroe Best, Beacon’s South Division President.

Greenfield expansion adds to Beacon’s organic growth investments that are part of its Ambition 2025 strategy, the company noted.

Beacon says it serves a base of more than 80,000 customers.

Earlier this week, Beacon launched its new Beacon PRO+ mobile app

The new app is custom-designed for iPhone and Android devices and is specifically tailored to meet the needs of contractors who spend their days on the go, the company said.

Additionally, Beacon has made multiple expansion moves in Texas in the past month.

In mid-October, the distributor opened a new branch in Lubbock, Texas.

That move was preceded by the opening of new locations in College Station and Sherman, Texas.
