Roofing and building materials distributor Beacon has expanded its presence in Illinois.

The company announced that it has opened a greenfield location in Rockford, Ill.

The branch establishes service to customers in the growing Rockford metro area, adding to Beacon’s 14 branches in Illinois.

The Rockford branch is stocked with leading brands of residential roofing, commercial roofing, and complementary products, including Beacon’s own private label TRI-BUILTbrand, Beacon said.

Contractors in Rockford also have immediate access to Beacon PRO+, available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for customers who spend their days on the go.

“Our team is pleased to expand service to customers in Illinois,” said Larry Augello, Beacon’s Regional Vice President, North Central. “We have a complete Beacon OTC network of branches in the Chicago metro area and this extension to reach Rockford allows us to meet the needs of local Rockford customers as well as those who work in the adjacent corridors. We also look forward to being active in the community via the Chamber of Commerce and Toys for Tots.”This new location continues to demonstrate Beacon’s commitment to customer excellence and growth in its Ambition 2025 goals.

Beacon currently operates more than 470 branches in the Untied States and Canada.

Recent moves by Beacon have included the opening of new locations in the Miami-Dade market, Minneapolis and Indianapolis, along with Kentucky and Virginia.

Last month, Bacon reported that it has acquired Jacksonville, Fla.-based Coastal Construction Products from the company’s majority owner Supply Chain Equity Partners.

Coastal is a specialty distributor of waterproofing products with 18 locations in the South and Midwest. Beacon sells waterproofing products throughout its commercial and residential roofing branches as well as 13 specialty waterproofing locations in the West.

Beacon reported that Coastal has an estimated 2022 revenue of $250 million. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The company also launched its new Beacon PRO+ mobile app in October.
