Quikrete Industry Dashboard: vacations and confidence

An uptick in Consumer Confidence highlights the latest collection of data points.

Here’s an interesting stat from The Conference Board: nearly half (47.6 percent) of consumer respondents said they intend to take a vacation in the next six months. That’s the highest figure since February 2020.

That’s the kind of optimism that pushed the Consumer Confidence Index to 113.8, up from 109.8 in September. (Click here for more on Consumer Confidence.)

Elsewhere on the Quikrete Industry Dashboard, gas prices continue to climb. According to the American Automobile Association, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the United States was $3.40 on Oct. 28. That’s up from $3.19 a month ago, and up from $2.15 compared to Oct. 28 a year ago.

Next up: The employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics will update the national unemployment rate Nov. 5.
