The latest version of the Quikrete Industry Dashboard reveals shows gas prices increasing, and unemployment decreasing.
The most recent government release put the national unemployment rate at 5.4% in July, down from 5.9% in the prior month.
Also in July, employment showed little change in construction and wholesale trade
Additionally, the number of unemployed people fell by 782,000 to 8.7 million. These measures are down considerably from their highs at the end of the February-April 2020 recession. However, they remain well above their levels prior to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic (3.5% and 5.7 million, respectively, in February 2020).
Another interesting stat from the Bureau shows that people are slowly returning to the office.
In July, 13.2% of employed persons teleworked because of the coronavirus pandemic, down from 14.4% in the prior month.
