Total starts, single-family starts and existing-home sales all headed south in April, the latest month of available statistics.
Existing home sales as reported by the National Association of Realtors fell to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.85 million in April – a third-consecutive monthly decline for the closely-watched metric.
Another highlight of the latest version of the Quikrete Industry Dashboard is the pace of toal housing starts in April. It dropped to 1,569,000, down from 1,733,000 in March, but up 67.3% from the pandemic-dampered April 2020 rate of 938,000
