Quikrete Industry Dashboard

2/12/2021

The Quikrete Industry Dashboard was relatively quiet in the second week of February, as the industry awaits next week’s release of data measuring residential construction and retail sales.

But something noteworthy happened: after years of reporting gas prices below the year-ago levels, the AAA reported the average price for a gallon of regular at $2.50 – seven cents higher than a year ago (and 17 cents higher than last month).

There are several explanations and theories on the causes of rising gas prices – see here, and here. A recent HBSDealer poll question found that more than half of reader respondents say they are budgeting for increased gas prices.

Elsewhere on the Quikrete Industry Dashboard, DE, BLDR and TSCO are setting the pace in a stock market full of monthly and annual gainers.
