Quikrete Industry Dashboard

Housing starts highlighted the latest release of the Quikrete Industry Dashboard – particularly, the single-family chart. Single-family starts rose past the one million mark for the third time in the last 12 months. 

Total starts slipped to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.416 million, down from the prior month, but up from the same month one year ago. 

The monthly sales charts reveal similar stories of mixed results. Sales of building material dealers (NAICS 444) were up compared to last year, but down from the previous month. The same situation exists for the subset of hardware stores (NAICS 44413).

Gas prices held steady at a national average of $2.18 for a gallon of regular, according to AAA.
