There has been a lot of talk about marijuana recently in Washington, D.C.
During Larry Minor’s presentation at the 2022 ProDealer Industry Summit, a significant amount of time was dedicated to rules regarding marijuana use and truck drivers.
Minor, the associate administrator for policy from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, made clear to the attendees that – regardless of the de-criminalization of marijuana movement —marijuana use for truck drivers is strictly forbidden by the Department of Commerce. And moreover, it’s the leading cause of license suspensions.
Earlier this month, the House of Representatives passed a bill that would decriminalize marijuana at the federal level. And last week, New Jersey dispensaries began selling marijuana for recreational use.
