Pack’s Hardware honored

Pack’s Hardware, a Do it Best dealer in Smithville, Missouri, and Sheryl Stang, store manager, recently received 2023 Business of the Year and Employee of the Year awards from the Smithville Chamber of Commerce.

About the wins, Stang said, “we couldn’t do it without the love and support of our customers.”

Pack’s Hardware is owned by Rusty Gerken and his family, said the firm. They operate 21 hardware stores and 11 equipment rental locations across Kansas and Missouri.

“Pack’s Hardware has been a Smithville staple since 1971, and Sheryl has been with the company for six years,” said the company.

During that time, she has been an active presence in Smithville, both hosting and taking part in community events and celebrations.

The hardware said that Stang and her team, “work hard to not just meet but exceed the expectations of their customers. Visitors to Pack’s know that they will always be greeted with a warm welcome, expert advice and a hot cup of coffee.”

Nominees were selected by the community, said the hardware retailer, with winners chosen by the Chamber of Commerce.

“Thank you so much, Smithville,” read a note from the hardware’s Facebook page. “We are honored and humbled by these awards. We love doing what we do… and we love you.”
