Watch your step: ALI promotes safety

2/20/2018

The American Ladder Institute (ALI), a not-for-profit association dedicated to developing ladder safety standards and promoting safe ladder use, is encouraging participation in National Safety Month.

June is National Safety Month and a time dedicated to educating and influencing behaviors around leading causes of preventable injuries and deaths.

ALI contributes greatly to that effort through its Ladder Safety Training, which is offered online at no cost. It is an ideal opportunity for companies whose employees use ladders and for individuals to participate in National Safety Month. Learning about proper ladder use, selection and care is just one way to be involved.

“We encourage all companies and individuals who use ladders to participate in National Safety Month by taking advantage of ALI’s on-line safety training," said Jeff Inks, executive director, American Ladder Institute. "Our No. 1 concern is reducing accidents that result from improper selection and use of ladders."

ALI’s free online training is provided in both English and Spanish and is available at laddersafetytraining.org. The dedicated website grants access to ALI’s library of safety training modules that teach safe ladder practices.

“ALI’s Ladder Safety Training platform demonstrates our strong commitment to the safe use of all ladders by all people," said Ron Schwartz, ALI president. "We recognize that it's not enough to set standards and expect them to have any real impact without proper instruction and easy-to-use resources for using ladders safely. Our online modules make it much easier for managers and employees to access high quality safety training, no matter where they are or what technology they use."
