Trex rolls out online decking samples

Trex Company is introducing a new online sample fulfillment program, extending the option to consumers to purchase flooring samples directly from Trex's website.

"It's one thing to browse decking options in a catalog or retail setting, but viewing actual samples at home allows consumers to visualize firsthand the rich aesthetics and premium quality of Trex products and how they pair with their home's distinct style," said Ronald W. Kaplan, chairman, president and CEO of Trex. "Our goal with this program is to provide a convenient and natural next step for consumers exploring our site to turn inspiration into action, and to help lead them confidently toward choosing Trex for their homes."

Samples are now available from all three of Trex's decking collections (in every shade they're made in), including Trex Select, Trex Enhance and Trex Transcend.

Consumers can opt to browse the website or to filter products by collection and color.

They can then purchase 12-in. deck boards in any of 18 color options available, which can then be shipped directly to their homes.

The samples are priced at $10 each, including shipping. Single samples are also shipped without any exterior packaging to promote its strength and durability.

"We want to highlight the high-performance durability of Trex's composite decking, starting with the samples our customers receive," Kaplan explained. "All of the options we offer are capped with a protective shell that guards the boards from scratching, warping, fading and staining. By shipping them without packaging we are able to convey these performance benefits in a way that is impactful and authentic."
