REPORT: Menards preparing for Pennsylvania

Plans are underway for Menards – the home improvement giant of the Midwest – to build its first store in Pennsylvania.

This store would the most eastern location for Menards, which operates more than 300 locations in 14 states.

According to a report by The Herald-Standard, the 200,000 square-foot location would be in South Union Township at the Fayette County Business Park.

Earlier this week, the Fayette County Redevelopment Authority agreed to sell about 80 acres to Menard, Inc. for about $1.764 million.

A Menards representative also told the newspaper that plans are underway for two locations in West Virginia.

Founded in 1958 and based in Eau Claire, Wis., Menards operates stores in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
