Readers respond to weed killer chemical
An HBSDealer poll found that 71% of respondents say their customers are “not at all” concerned about glyphosate in their weed killer.
The California Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment announced it intends to include glyphosate on its list of chemicals known to the state to cause cancer. Glyphosate is an ingredient in the best-selling weed killers from Roundup, a Monsanto product. Monsanto strenuously maintains the safety of its product.
More than 110 readers voted in the poll that asked: "How concerned are your customers about glyphosate in their weed killer. Here's the breakdown:
• 71% clicked the box for: "Not at all: It's safe. It works. Customers like it."
• 18% chose: "A lot: Customers are looking for alternatives."
• 12% chose: "A little: A few questions now and then."
