Readers respond: the big story

Tariffs, labor shortage and commodity price deflation top the news (so far) in 2019.

So far this year, the biggest story line affecting the industry, in the opinion of more than 180 respondents to the HBSDealer weekly poll question, has been the story of tariffs.

It figured prominently in recent earnings reports, including those of Home Depot and Lumber Liquidators.
